From 7.00pm to 8.30pm

Learn how to grow organic vegetables at home in both small and larger spaces. This course will teach you the basics, how to create optimal soil conditions, how to sow seeds and how to nurture and protect your plants. By the end of the course you will have the knowledge to grow and eat your own organic vegetables at home.

About the Teacher:
Wendy Nairn is one of the founders of the organic movement in Ireland and has over 30 years experience in this area. Wendy is passionate about producing fresh, nutritious vegetables using sustainable wildlife friendly methods.
 
About the Course:
This is a four week course run once a week for an hour and a half. The classes will take place in the classroom.  If the weather is good, there may be some demonstration time in the garden.  
 
Week 1: Seed sowing.
Learn about seed variety, how to sow seeds and grow vegetables in small spaces.
 
Week 2: Soil & Composting
Making beds ready for the Spring
 
Week 3: Organic vegetables, how to grow them. 
Discover the different techniques used for organic gardening and identify which will suit your own circumstances.
Week 4: Herbs and plant propagation.
How to grow herbs and propagate both inside and outside the home.
