The expansion of organic production depends on State investment and increased environmental awareness among customers - but it also depends on the willingness of producers to go the extra mile.

Farm Markets are an amazing way to meet like-minded people, all of whom are taking an extra step to care for the environment. It’s also a way for producers - who are dedicated to farming, growing, catching, making and baking - to meet people who really appreciate what they do.

We are always developing our Organic Farm Shop on site at An Tairseach. Now with a simple stove and fireside table, serving organic coffee and home-baked goods, we encourage everyone to visit us and enjoy the experience of slow-shopping for home-grown, top quality organic food and products.

Organic Farm

An Tairseach’s farm was certified organic in 2006. We have been at the forefront of sustainable agriculture in Ireland, with a commitment to agroecology and organic cultivation alongside eco-education.

Our Irish name translates to the threshold, representing the ‘crossing’ - our necessary transition to change behaviour and work in tune with the natural world.
