Incarnating the Human: New Theological Horizons

With Dr. Diarmuid O'Murchu

Based on the scholarly study of our seven-million-year evolutionary story, this course explores the implications of naming and integrating our identity as Earthlings; along with the ensuing responsibilities that arise from this expanded understanding of our human identity. Diarmuid will offer us a version of the human story more appropriate to match the elegance of the cosmic story, grounded in the sacredness of Creation. He will speak to the new horizons for understanding our Christian faith arising from multidisciplinary research today.

  • What do we mean by Incarnation?
  • How can the Jesus story be made congruent with the enlarged story of science and cosmology?
  • What new theological horizons might emerge from our evolving human story?
