ABOUT THIS COURSE

This course explores how songs, stories, poems invite us to look; pay attention; clear a space; rest in ‘the peace of wild things’ (Wendell Berry); or listen to ‘that roar which lies on the other side of silence’ (George Eliot). It is an invitation to ponder the mystical in the everyday, or the imperceptible in this precious life.

ABOUT BRIAN DOONEY

Brian Dooney is a native of Ireland (born in Dublin) and works with Age and Opportunity, the national development organisation working to enable a better quality of life for us all as we age. Previously, he worked as a lecturer in English and Adult Education in All Hallows College/DCU (2004-2016), directing and delivering a range of modules in relation to Art, Literature and Spirituality. Brian has a BA in English and Psychology, a BA in Theology, a H.Dip in Education, an M.Phil. and a Ph.D. in Anglo-Irish Literature.
