An Tairseach Organic Farm & Ecology Centre presents Journey of the Universe: The Unfolding of Life with Niamh Brennan (4 days)

WHEN:    Wednesday 9th to Saturday 12th October 2024

This course weaves together the discoveries of evolutionary sciences with humanities such as history, philosophy, and religion.

It draws inspiration from writings of Thomas Berry and Brian Swimme.

  • Dynamic Interactions: Investigate interactions in the unfolding of galaxies, Earth, life, and human communities.
  • Cosmic Evolution: Explore the creative process of cosmic evolution based on connection, interdependence, and emergence.

By integrating science and humanities, this course presents evolution as an epic narrative, emphasizing our integral role within it.

Dr Brennan invites participants to appreciate the complexity and beauty of our natural environment within the grand narrative of cosmic evolution.

ABOUT NIAMH BRENNAN

Niamh Brennan writes and lecturers about cosmology, ecology, and philosophy.  She is the author of The Human in the Universe and co-author of The Universe Story in Science and Myth.  For the past ten years Niamh has been conducting research in the areas of eco-cosmology, subjectivity/philosophies of the self, religious studies, and poetics.  She is a master teacher with a toolbox of many pedagogical skills.  She has worked with graduate and undergraduate students, religious congregations, and a variety of other groups.
